A wooden garden planter is a box that is made out of wood that can be used as a sort of portable
garden. You can plant flowers or other plants in them, and then place them anywhere you would like to.
Many people really enjoy wooden garden planters, and for good reason. They offer people who
would not otherwise have the opportunity to plant flowers to do so by giving them a convenient and easy to access
place to do it. Or, they allow people who do have gardens to bring a piece of their gardens closer to them, or to
give pieces of it away as a gift.
For example, someone who grows marigolds might enjoy giving a wood garden planter full of them
away as a gift to their relative who lives in the city. This makes wooden garden planters perfect for almost
anyone, but they are not a no-brainer. There are some things to consider before placing the order online, and here
are a few of the major ones.
First of all, how big are they? Big enough? Think again. Pictures of wooden gard planters online
(we have included several on this site) can seem deceptively large, so make sure that you actually read the
dimensions of the wooden panters, or at least see a picture of one with a person in it so that you can gauge how
big it is.
You will need to have a wood garden planter big enough to not only hold all of the plants that
you want, but it should also be able to keep all of the roots where they need to be as well. But, having said that,
don’t make it too big. Take some dirt, add plants, and then water them a few times in a large wooden garden planter
and you get something else… a very heavy wood garden planter!
You can forget about hauling a heavy one in the back of your truck, unless you have about three
people to help you carry it. It doesn’t take long for something like this to gain weight, so just make sure that
you pinpoint a good size before ordering.
Try to find out how many pounds it weighs when it is full of dirt, or at least try to calculate
this yourself. How many bags of soil does it hold? What are the dimensions? Perhaps you can compare it to a
gardenplanter box you already have. Whatever you
decide to do, keeping it the right size will really help you down the road.
Another thing to consider is quantity. How many wooden planters are you going to order? Is the
website you are shopping on going to give you a good deal on shipping? Do they offer free shipping if you order a
certain number of planters?
Ask some questions, and then look for the answers on the website. There are a lot of good
websites out there to shop on for wooden garden planters, so don’t forget to look around a little bit before
clicking the 'order' button.
